Mentionable ✪
Refer to something briefly without going into detail. Important or noteworthy, memorable
Back to our regularly scheduled programming, this week talking about programming.
The goal of these segments are to help with understanding how to have intent and yield specific outputs from programming.
Starting off with "building strength".
Strength
Goal: the heaviest you can lift
Example of how it may be programed: 85+% (of your 1RM for main lifts, 8RM for auxiliary lifts) for 6 reps or less for 2-6 sets
Why: pretty self explanatory on why we want to be as strong as possible. However, through the lens of sport (or even when you’re moving something heavy) this is about how much force can you develop. Think in football, the stronger defensive man will most likely be able to easily overpower a weaker player because he can generate more force.
*note RM stands for Rep Max. So if the heaviest you can squat is 100 lbs for 1 rep, your 1RM would be 100 lbs for your squat. 8RM would be the heaviest load you can lift for 8 reps of that specific exercise.
Motivation ✪
Meant to inspire: being mentally stimulated to do or feel something
