Mindfulness ✪

How can you live more boldly?
Mentionable ✪
Refer to something briefly without going into detail. Important or noteworthy, memorable
I weighed myself recently and it's funny that this might be the first time when I haven't felt panic when the scale has gone up.
I don't keep track of my weight, but I think I put on a couple pounds of muscle because I know I'm getting stronger. I'm lifting heavier and adding more reps to my pull-ups and chin-ups, etc.
I'm mentioning this because so many people obsess about the number on the scale. When what's actually matters is what's going on in your body.
For me, I know I've been putting in the work in the gym; I'm finally hitting the protein I need; and I'm sure my creatine supplementation has played a role. So I'm not concerned that I'm probably the heaviest I've ever been. Especially since despite my body weight is going up, I can do more pull-ups. Which means I must be doing something right.
All this to say, this is your friendly reminder that muscle weighs more than fat so don't be surprised if you know you're making progress and getting stronger AND the scale goes UP.
Nothing has gone wrong, in fact, something may have gone extremely right.
Motivation ✪
Meant to inspire: being mentally stimulated to do or feel something
Found this old Latin proverb on James Clear's newsletter: "initium est dimidium facti" — Horace
Translated: "once you've started, you're halfway there".
