Last friendly reminder principle of injury rehabilitation isn't really a doctor recommended one. And here's why.
Despite some medical professionals advice, you do know your body better than they do a majority of the time. Don't doubt that. And trust yourself to discern when to listen them and when to listen to yourself and your body.
I have had success (as well as seen others' success) with having a team of professionals helping build the rehab protocol. Meaning, I highly recommend getting more than one opinion on an injury or rehabilitation if something isn't vibing with you.
Sometimes too many opinions is too much noise and less is better. However, I've found that sometimes only having one opinion can also be a detriment to your recovery. The exception being if they've done an exceptional job getting you back on track before and you fully trust them and their expertise.
All of this to say, while we do occasionally need to defer to professionals and trust their knowledge and wisdom, never discount your personal knowledge and wisdom of yourself, your body, and that inner feeling you have when something isn't quite right. I highly encourage that, when in doubt, get a second (or third, or fourth, etc.) opinion.
